6. AdvancED Submissions Prior to External Review 10am
  • Self Assessment Narrative Assignments
    • We have previously completed this process; however, it was the former 7-Standard version of AdvancED and additional agency progress has also been made (as noted from the May 2012 Staff Meeting)
    • For each Standard Indicator, we are asked to identify our current level of performance on a 5-scale rubric (which we have already done as an agency). Following the administration of the ESA Staff Survey, we will update the results in order to complete the Self Assessment.
    • Then, a narrative for each of the 5 Standards needs to be written according to the following format:
      • Reflect upon your responses to each of the indicators and performance levels by considering and responding to the following questions when drafting your narrative response. Use language from the performance level descriptions to guide your writing. Cite sources of evidence the External Review team members may be interested in reviewing.
      • What were the areas of strength you noted? What were areas in need of improvement? What actions are you implementing to sustain the areas of strength? What plans are you making to improve the areas of need?
    • Leadership Team Members are assigned as follows to draft narratives. (Jeff will have a sample of the draft narratives by the August 10th meeting).
      • 1 - Vision and Direction - Nicole/Cristen
      • 2 - Governance and Leadership - Geraldine
      • 3 - Teaching and Assessing for Learning - Patty
      • 4 - Resources and Support Systems - Ben/Becky
      • 5 - Using Results for Continuous Improvement - Nicole/Cristen
    • As a group, we will brainstorm a bulleted list of ideas/concepts to include for each Standard that can help to guide the authors' writing.
    • Drafts completed by next Leadership Team meeting.
    • Jeff McQuistan will confer with authors and review/revise as needed in order for the Self Assessment to have 'one voice'.
    • This process will help us create an agency Standards Overview, the Leadership Team presentation during the External Review in April. Leadership Team members will deliver this presentation according to who created the Standard narratives for the Self Assessment.
    • Aug 10 Staff Day: review Data
    • Staff Perception Survey>>
      • complete during Aug 10 Staff Meeting
